This weekend saw the wedding of South African President Jacob Zuma’s daughter, Duduzile.
She married Lonwabo Sambudla, a businessman and former chief executive of ANCYL company Lembede Investment Holdings, in a parisian themed wedding in the Eastern Cape on Saturday. The couple got engaged in September last year.
The wedding took place at the Inkwenkwezi Game Reserve near East London. It has been reported that an army of private security guards, police and the presidential protection unit watched over the reserve as everything was set up.
Duduzile wore a white off-the-shoulder wedding gown encrusted with Swarovski crystals, and a pair of silver Christian Louboutin shoes, as well as a custom-made diamond necklace worth R1,5-million.
She was accompanied by her father and four bridesmaids dressed in red gowns.
Duduzile and her father drove in a minibus from Prana Lodge to the wedding venue, before getting onto a white rickshaw, which was accompanied by women singing traditional Xhosa wedding songs.
Lonwabo wore a cream suit and matching bow tie.
The guest list included businessman Vivian Reddy, presidential spokesperson Zizi Kodwa, Nelson Mandela’s grandson – Chief Mandla Mandela, Khanyi Mbau, former Miss SA Tansey Coetzee, comedian David Kau and many more.
Instead of gifts, the couple requested gift vouchers for a variety of high-end stores.
The rights to the wedding were sold to a local magazine. Here, at Media Alive, we are looking forward to the release of the official photos.
