Lead singer of the Van Coke Kartel, Francois van Coke will be showing us his acting skills in a new South African Afrikaans vampire movie called Bloedsuier.
The movie is about the existence of vampires in South Africa. They have been in the country since the time of Jan van Riebeeck. Then two amateur vampire hunters in present-day Cape Town end up catching one of the vampires by mistake. They are launched on a journey to the Klein Karoo to find the vampire prince and kill him. In the process they fulfill an ancient vampire prophecy. EXCITING STUFF.
The cast consists of Francois Van Coke, singer Inge Beckmann, Rob van Vuuren, Andre Roothman and Porteus Xandau.
Two teaser clips have been released in preparation for a fundraising campaign which will start in March this year.
The producers want to fund the film using traditional methods as well as something called “crowd funding”. They way this works is that fans can make pledges (from as little as R30). Once they’ve pledged, they will then have access to exclusive rewards and content. The fundraising drive will start on the 28th of February.
