The 53rd Grammy Awards – the winners, the performances, the fashion and more.

The 53rd Grammy Awards ceremony is over and the net is being flooded with video clips, pictures and news about the show.

The most talked about performer is, of course, Lady Gaga. The eccentric singer made her way down the red carpet in a giant egg and the opening to her performance of “Born This Way” was her breaking out of the egg – effectively being born. I think it’s a brilliant metaphor.

The red carpet was a landscape of fabulously dressed artists. Katy Perry wore a stunning Giorgio Armani sequinned gown with long train, complete with angel wings. Rihanna wore a layered John Paul Gaultier couture gown. Jennifer Lopez wore a sparkly Pucci . Florence Welch wore a sheer Givenchy Couture Spring 2011 dress.

Nicki Minaj, like Lady Gaga, is known for her eccentricity. She hit the red carpet in an animal-print outfit specially designed for the her by Givenchy. She finished off the outfit with a Cruella de ville type hairstyle. She even wore leopard stockings and shoes.

Florence and The Machine joined Jennifer Hudson, Yolanda Adams, Christina Aguilera and Martin McBride in a tribute to Aretha Franklin. She could not be at the awards because she is recovering from surgery.

Justin Bieber sang with Usher. Apparently there were Ninjas!

Cee-Lo and Gwyneth Paltrow performed Cee-Lo’s hit song “Forget you”. There were muppets. I must say that I am totally amazed at Gwyneth Paltrows’ voice. It’s stunning.

Every awards ceremony has its best dressed and worst dressed list. And the 2011 grammy’s are no exception. Some of the best dressed people were:

Drake, Dianna Agron and Natasha Bedingfield. Nicole Kidman makes the list as well. She wore a Jean-Paul Gaultier gown. Selena Gomez wore a J. Mendel dress and looked absolutely gorgeous.

Some people who make the worst dressed list are:

Justin Bieber dressed in an all white suit which just didn’t suit someone as young as him.

Rihanna wore a white ?dress? I’m not sure that you can actually call it a dress. It looks like strips of fluffy stuff stuck together.

Ciara wore an outfit that made her look like she had just come from the set of a space movie set on another planet.

Miley Cyrus, Amber Riley and Lenny Kravitz also make the worst dressed list.
