The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) is a charity in the United Kingdom that hosts annual awards shows for excellence in film, television, television craft, video games and forms of animation.

It was founded in 1947 and is an independent charity. BAFTA is not only about the annual BAFTA Awards.

It also runs a year-round program of educational events including film screenings, tribute evenings and interviews, lectures and debates. BAFTA is supported by a membership of about 6500 people from the film, television and video game industries.

Colin Firth also won the leading actor award in 2010 for his role in ‘A Single Man’.

All awards ceremonies happen to honour those who have excelled in their industry and no ceremony is complete without the fashion on the red carpet.

Emma Watson wore an off-the-shoulder nude Valentino chiffon gown which was pleated at the bottom. Emma and Rupert Grint (her co-star in the Harry Potter movies) were on stage when JK Rowling accepted the Outstanding British Contribution To Cinema award for the ‘Harry Potter’ films. Emma’s dress is one of my favourites.
