5900 staff members will be involved in the 2 U2 rock concerts being performed in Cape Town and Johannesburg this month. That’s a lot of people.
The shows will have the largest concert stage structure ever assembled. The stage revolves which allows the audience surround it and get a good view from all sides.
Concert promoter Penny Stein said 200 containers carrying both international and locally-hired equipment had already arrived for the first show.
“This is a massive set and rig. It is a total of 300 international and local staff, 2, 600 security guards, 1, 000 bar staff and 2, 000 other support staff for four people on stage,” she said.
