We all know Stephen Moyer as the sexy vampire Bill Compton from the hugely popular tv series True Blood, but he did a lot of acting before True Blood, including a part in ‘Highlander: The Raven’ (tv series) and Trinity (movie).
His birth name is Stephen John Emery. He was born on the 11th of October 1969 in Brentwood, Essex.
He attended St Martins School in Essex and graduated at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, after which he worked in theatre for five years. He then made the transition from film to tv.
He has 2 children from previous relationships – a son, Billy, born in 2000, and a daughter, Lilac, born in 2002.
He married Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse in ‘True Blood’) in August 2010.

South African fans can look forward to watching Stephen in ‘ICE’. It’s set in 2020 where findings by an environmental scientist suggest that Halo, the corporate energy company drilling on the Greenland Glacier are causing it to melt. His warnings are ignored so he goes to the Arctic to find evidence and finds that humankind is under immediate threat, and races home to save his family. The glacier collapses, with devastating consequences.

1 – At the age of 24, Stephen moved into a purple houseboat on a London canal and spent his time entertaining rock star, Pete Townshend, and other celebrity guests.
2 – He became Brentwood Theatre’s first patron in October 2007
3 – Why the name change from Emery to Moyer? He didn’t want to be known as a horse’s ass. He got his first Equity card for a role in the pantomime Oliver in the same week as another actor by the same name. The other Stephen was literally “playing the back end of a horse, I swear to God, it’s true,” said Moyer. The other actor kept the name.
