Judge Dredd to be filmed in Cape Town


Judge Dredd, the 3D action film, will be shot in the new Cape Town Film Studio. Based on the British comic book story about a futuristic judge, the locally shot production is expected to cost about R320-million and is expected to generate about R368-million for South Africa.

The film is set to have an Oscar-winning production team, including co-producer Michael Murphy, (District 9), the set designer of Slumdog Millionaire, Mark Digby, choreographer Anthony Dod Mantle, The Beach writer Alex Garland and the assistant director of Sherlock Holmes, Lee Grummet.
