I was checking out the Miss Earth SA blog and I came across an article about ‘Save the frogs day’. The aim of this day is to raise awareness about the plight of amphibians. I did not know that amphibians are on the endangered animals list. I’ve heard about the panda and the tiger, but not about the frog. On the official website for ‘Save the frogs day’, it states that nearly 1/3 of the world’s 6,485 species are on the brink of extinction. That’s a lot of amphibians.
Have a look at the website. It’s full of information about how you can get involved to help.
You can read an interview with the founder and director of Save the Frogs (Dr. Kerry Kriger)here.
The Southern Corroboree Frog is a critically endangered frog. Read about it and 4 other endangered frogs here.
