There’s a lot happening in Durban this weekend. I’ll get straight into it.
1 – Vacca Matta at Suncoast Casino is hosting the 75 Fashion Couture Style Extravaganza on the 19th March. It is a fashion show of international standards. Garments will be on sale at the venue. It starts at 8pm. Phone 031 3686535 for more details.
2 – The Baba Indaba starts tomorrow (19th March) at the Durban Exhibition Cenre and carries on until the 22nd March. You’ll be able to check out products for baby and moms-to-be. You’ll find everything from prams to vitamin supplements to pool safety products. The Takalani Sesame characters will be on stage 3 times a day. There’ll be fashion shows as well.
3 – Decorex Durban 2010 is being held at the Durban ICC from the 19th March to the 22nd March. If decorating and design are your thing, then this is where you need to be this weekend.
4 – The Bangladesh market is held every Saturday and Sunday in Chatsworth. Check out their website for more details.
Music and dance Events
1 – Elton John will be in Durban on the 24th March for his “Under African Skies” solo tour. The show will be held at the Moses Mabhida Outer Fields. Tickets can be bought at computicket.

1 – The annual theatre minifest starts on the 19th March at the Hexagon Theatre in PMB. The line-up is made up of 5 theatre pieces including a poetry show. Phone 033 260 5537 for more details.
2 – The Courtyard Theatre in hosting ‘Frontlines’ from the 20th of March to the 25th of March. The show is a collection of thoughts, images, testimonies, letters and responses to global conflict in the 20th century.
